4th of July Starting Line

A guide to patriotic products that will complete your 4th of July.

Yes, I’m a part of one of "those families."

Almost every holiday starts with a run: the Lansing Turkey Trot 5K, the Playmakers Holiday Classic, the Playmakers Super “Wild Wing” Bowl 5K (and yes, the Superbowl is a holiday in my family - Go Broncos!).  But I’ll be honest, my favorite holiday run is the 4th of July. While the run I usually take place in is a little out of the area (Paul Revere Run in Harbor Springs), the holiday lends to a day full of fun and festive activities.

The day starts off with a bang (starting gun) and ends the same way (fireworks).  In between, there is a parade, a boat ride, swimming & a BBQ. Hence, why this is my favorite day of the year.

There is no shortage of gear to support the activities of day.  Brooks never fails to support festive holidays such as the 4th of July.  The “Old Glory” Launch 6 will be sure to carry you through each mile of your 4th of July activities.

And of course, our fingers are crossed that the day is full of sunshine.  From run to BBQ, Goodrs shades are bound to keep you sizzlin’. My favorite thing about Goodrs is that they stay in place both while running and enjoying some beach rays!

Post run, the last thing I’ll want to do is my hair.  So throwing on this Trucker Hat from The North Face & I’ll be on my way.

From start to finish, you’ll want to make sure you are hydrated. You will find me carrying around my Hydroflask, full of Nuun. My favorite flavor is cherry limeade! Perfect for a warm race day.

Here is my dad, my sister, my husband & I celebrating our favorite day of the year, post run last year.

So whether your day is laid back & relaxing or on-the-go, I wish you a safe and happy 4th of July!
