Honor Roll Track and Field Meet of Champions

Greater Lansing Honor Roll Meets

The Greater Lansing Honor Roll Meet of Champions and the Junior Honor Roll are the premier invitationals for individual Track and Field athletes in the Greater Lansing Area. A weekly performance listing is produced for both the Honor Roll (high school) and Junior Honor Roll (middle school) highlighting the best performances in the Greater Lansing area. The top athletes on the performance list at the end of the 

season will be invited to compete at the Honor Roll Meet of Champions!

  • The Honor Roll (high school) weekly list will be updated Tuesday nights starting April 25 and continue through Memorial Day weekend.
  • The Junior Honor Roll (middle school) will be updated continuously starting the first full week of May and continue through Memorial Day!
  • Playmakers Athlete of the Week, sponsored by New Balance, will be awarded throughout the spring for both high school and middle school athletes.

Spectator Information

This year's 44th Honor Roll Meet of Champions will be hosted for the second time in its history at Michigan State University. The mission of the Honor Roll Meet of Champions is to showcase the area's top athletes in each Track and Field event. Join us at the Honor Roll and join the fun!

Meet of Champions Information:

Location: Michigan State University || Ralph Young Track and Field

Date: Tuesday, May 29, 2018
Meet Schedule: Field Events @ 5:30pm ---- Running Events @ 6:30pm

Spectator Entry: $5 --- Children Under 3 FREE

Spectator Note: Competing athletes and coaches are the only attendees allowed on the infield of the track. Please stay in the stands or other approved viewing locations.

Concession: Variety of concessions will be available at the meet.
Restroom: Restroom facilities located at the track and field.

Recommended Parking: Spectators should park in MSU Parking Lots 62W & 79.

Complete Coach's Information

Participation: Entries into the Honor Roll Meet of Champions will be made by each team's coach on Athletic.net. Athletes must appear on the final Honor Roll listing to be entered into the invitational. Appearing on the Honor Roll "Weekly Listing" does not guarantee entry into the meet.

Athlete Entry: Coaches should enter athletes between Thursday, May 24 at 5pm and Sunday, May 27 @ 5pm. 

Accepted Athletes: The following is the number of athletes in each event that will be invited to compete in the Honor Roll Meet of Champions from those entered on Athletic.net during the entry time. 

  • Top 16 athletes in 100, 200, 400, 110/100 hurdles, 300 hurdles (2 sections)
    Top 8 athletes plus ties in the high jump, long jump, pole vault, shot put and discus
    Top 24 athletes in the 1600 and 3200 runs (1 section)
    Top 20 athletes in the 800 (1 section)
    Top 8 teams in the 4 x100, 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays (1 section)
    Top 12 teams in the 4 x 800 relay (1 section)

2018 Coaches Information

The 2018 Middle School "Junior" Honor Roll will take place at Okemos High School on Thursday, May 31. Coaches from participating teams should submit names, grades, and performances of athletes to Jeff Crowe, the Meet Director of the Junior Honor Roll (jeffc@playmakers.com). Performance updates, adjustments, names/grades, and any other corrections should be made by a school's coaching staff and sent to the Meet Director.

Greater Lansing Cross Country Championships

The Greater Lansing Cross Country Championship and the Junior Greater Lansing Championship are premier invitationals for cross country teams in the Greater Lansing Area. The Greater Lansing Championships does not divide 40 areas teams via school size but compete all schools/teams in one championship.

Additional notes:
Parking: Spectators and teams not arriving via school bus should park in the Ledge Meadows parking lot
Golf course etiquette: Please stay off all tees and greens on the golf course please stay off of driving range tee box (absolutely NO TENTS there)
Dogs and pets: Only official service dogs and pets are permitted at the Greater Lansing Invitational, no exception. 
Course awareness: Please watch the course and give athletes plenty of room to run and pass one another. Spectators must stay behind ropes and flags at the starting line, 1 mile mark, and finish straight.

3:30 p.m.--coaches' packet pick-up (pre-assigned boxes)
4:00 p.m.--top 10 girls
4:30 p.m.--top 10 boys
5:00 p.m.--open meet girls
5:30 p.m.--open meet boys        
*will be enforcing the MHSAA heat index policy if necessary

CHAMPIONSHIP T-SHIRTS:
Shirts will be available for $15 during the duration of this event (cash or credit card accepted)

AWARDS:
Immediately after races for top 50 individuals in each of the 4 races
Team awards to the top 5 boys and top 5 girls teams: plaques will be awarded on the podium.  
Two plaques will be awarded on the podium for the top male and top female
