Greater Lansing Honor Roll Meets

Greater Lansing Honor Roll
High School Track and Field

The Greater Lansing Honor Roll Meet of Champions and Junior Honor Roll are the premier invitationals for individual Track and Field athletes in the Greater Lansing Area. A weekly performance listing is produced for both the Honor Roll (high school) and Junior Honor Roll (middle school) highlighting the best performances in the Greater Lansing area. 

The Honor Roll weekly list will be updated Tuesday with the current weeks performances being listed Wednesday morning on the Playmakers website starting the last week in April and continuing through Memorial Day weekend. The weekly list will be used as the final invitation to compete in the Honor Roll Meet of Champions on Tuesday, May 31. 

The Junior Honor Roll, or Middle School list, will be updated continuously starting the first full week of May and continuing through Memorial Day!

Spectator Information

This year's meet will take place at the Ralph Young Track and Field on the campus of Michigan State. With Spartan Stadium in the background and a nearly perfect spectator oriented track, this event will showcase the areas best in a prestigious location.

             Located next to Spartan Stadium

Date: Tuesday, May 31, 2016
Meet Schedule: Field Events @ 5:30pm ---- Running Events @ 6:30pm

Spectator Entry: $5 --- Children Under 3 FREE

Spectator Note #1: There are two large grass areas on the north end and south end of the track. Spectators are allowed to bring lawn chairs to utilize these great viewing locations. 

Spectator Note #2: Competing athletes and coaches are the only people allowed on the infield of the track. Please stay in the stands or other approved viewing locations. 

Shirts & Apparel 
Honor Roll Track Field Championship shirts - $15
Track and Field Apparel and Hats - $20 and up 

Concession: MSU will operate Concession Stand 
Restroom: Portable Toilets will be available at the track and field facility.

Recommended Parking: (All Vehicle must pay with cash to exit "paid" parking lots)
The public may park in lots 39, 62West, 63West, and 79 at a rate of $0.80 per half hour up until 8pm.  Any vehicles leaving after 8pm will not be charged a parking feeVehicles may park in lots 63E, 63W, 67,and in Ramp 7 after 6pm at no charge. Vehicles may park without paying at anytime in lot 83 located on Service Road near Harrison Road.

Bus and over sized vehicle Parking: All buses should be directed to lot 83 to park and all spectators, volunteers,  and attendees should be directed to lots 39, 62West, 63West, and 79 to park.

Participation: Entries into the Honor Roll Meet of Champions will be made by each team's coach on Athletic.net. Athletes must appear on the final Honor Roll listing to be entered and only a specific number of entries in each event will be selected. Appearing on the Honor Roll "Weekly Listing" does not guarantee entry into the meet.

Athlete Entry: Coaches should enter athletes between Thursday, May 26 at 5pm and Sunday, May 29 @ 5pm. 

Accepted Athletes: The following is the number of athletes in each event that will be invited to compete in the Honor Roll Meet of Champions from those entered on Athletic.net during the entry time. 

  • Top 16 athletes in 100, 200, 400, 110/100 hurdles, 300 hurdles (2 sections)
  • Top 8 athletes plus ties in the high jump, long jump, pole vault, shot put and discus
  • Top 24 athletes in the 1600 and 3200 runs (1 section)
  • Top 20 athletes in the 800 (1 section)
  • Top 8 teams in the 4 x100, 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays (1 section)
  • Top 12 teams in the 4 x 800 relay (1 section)
Accepted Entires: Will be posted on Playmakers.com by Sunday, May 29 @ Midnight.

Coaches Information: Listed Below - Please Note, only athletes listed within the Weekly Honor Roll will be eligible to compete at the Junior Honor Roll. Positions are limited within the meet and athletes will be chosen by performance.

Honor Roll Shirts: $15 a shirt with the entire amount going to support the Junior Greater Lansing Championship

Junior Honor Roll - Coaches Information

The 2016 Middle School "Junior" Honor Roll will take place at Okemos High School on Thursday, June 2. Coaches from participating teams should submit names, grades, and performances of athletes to Jeff Crowe, the Meet Director of the Junior Honor Roll (jeffc@playmakers.com). Performance updates, adjustments, names/grades, and any other corrections should be made by a schools coaching staff and sent to the Meet Director.

Honor Roll Meet Schedule: Field Events: 4pm  Running Events: 5pm 

Entry Deadline: Friday, May 22 @ 8am

Honor Roll Scratches: Tuesday, May 31 - Final scratches should be sent to Jeff Crowe (jeffc@playmakers.com) (Timely scratches will help ensure all races are full and deserving athletes are able to compete)
